I was skeptical, but I’m sick and tired of being buzzed by giant house flies while I’m trying to read a book or get something done. When I open a door, a fly or two zips right in. These strips are simple and effective. You get 12 per order. I put up six of them on my slider, which is where flies congregate because of the bright light outside. First, I looked to see what part of the window the flies tend to hang out at (it’s about chest level on mine) and then put six of these strips in a row (see video). Within 20 minutes, two flies landed on the strips. A couple of hours later, there were two more. Once they land on the strips, that’s it, they’re done for. I added one improvement: I used blue painter’s tape and put it on the window first, as a base for the strips – this has two advantages: (a) you can see where the strips are so you don’t bump into them, and (b) it makes it easy to remove the strips or reposition them, without any residue (painter’s tape leaves no residue). At one point I wound up touching one of the strips while I was attaching it, but it came off my hand easily – it’s not as strong as the glue on a mouse trap because it’s just a very thin coating – but it’s enough to catch a household fly. They can’t get loose. I can just toss out the strips that get flies on them and replace them with others. I was thinking I’d need to buy a fly swatter or a can of insecticide, but these do the trick without yukky fly juice all over the wall and without chemicals.Update: I’ve been using these for almost a week. I only put them on my slider door, because the sunshine is brightest there, and that’s where all flies congregate sooner or later. These strips have caught them almost as soon as they enter the house, every time. I keep removing the ones that got flies on them because it’s gross to look at. It’s great to not have to be bothered by a fly buzzing me, and these strips are worth every penny. I’ve ordered three more packs of them (12 each) to make sure I’m covered for the rest of the fly season.
