LG Electronics BP550 Blu-Ray Player with Wi-Fi (2015 Model)

Good DVD player substitute for a smart TV.. I was able to connect it to my wireless internet to access my Amazon Prime as well as netflix. etc. My only complaint is that you have to download the manual from the internet and print it out yourself. Why not just give you a copy in the package? You definitely need to read the instructions before using this…there are not many instructions on screen. I couldn’t figure out out to update the software, and then I read the instructions and it said you could push the unlabeled blue button on the remote. Also, I couldn’t shut the thing off, and then read that you have to take the disc out first. You also can’t have a disc in the machine when you update and you cannot touch any buttons on the remote or it cancels the update. Also you need the instructions to enable the remote to turn on the TV and adjust the volume. I might add that this player was not compatible with my old (very old) led TV, and I ended up having to buy a new TV as well. If I had it to do all over, I would have sent this back and just bought a smart TV to begin with, but I was determined to make this work!! the quality is very good and hopefully it will last me a while.
